Synopsis:
Gabrielle is attacked whilst taking Xena's body to Amphipolis. Iolaus arrives and is shocked to learn of Xena's death. He immediately leaves to tell Hercules the bad news.

Gabrielle meets up with Ephiny and the other Amazons who wish to pay their respects to Xena. Ephiny wants Gabrielle to become Queen and to agree to Xena being given an Amazon burial. One Amazon, Velasca is not so keen and she tries to convince Gabrielle that she is the rightful Queen. Meanwhile, Autolycus' body has been taken over by Xena's spirit who wants him to steal her body from the Amazons. Autolycus breaks into the Amazon village but Gabrielle catches him and imprisons him, believing he wants Xena's body for profit. However, when Xena's body is put on the burial pyre, Autolycus performs an impressive series of leaps and tumbles and rescues the sarcophogus containing Xena's body. Gabrielle realises that Xena is doing this and she follows Autolycus. Velasca is enraged and calls Gabrielle a traitor and asks the Amazons to make their choice: stand with her or against her. Only Ephiny, Solari and a few others stand against her and they are imprisoned. Autolycus is captured and chained and when Velasca finds out he has the Dagger of Helios, she takes it from him, realising this holds the key to ambrosia and godhood.

Autolycus, Gabrielle and the rebel Amazons break out from their prison and they go after Velasca. A battle ensues in the caves as Velasca and Autolycus climb up vines in an attempt to get to the ambrosia first. Xena switches into Gabrielle's body after Autolycus is injured and Velasca is knocked to the ground onto some spikes and appears to be dead. Although Gabrielle dropped most of the ambrosia, she has enough to revive Xena. When Xena awakes, she thanks Autolycus for the use of his body and Gabrielle scolds her for leaving her, so Xena promises not to do it again!

Synopsis:
Velasca has eaten ambrosia and is now a god. She targets both Ephiny and Gabrielle so Xena decides to free Callisto who is now an immortal, knowing this is the only chance they have of beating Velasca. Xena tells Callisto about the ambrosia and tempts her with godhood. Callisto agrees to help but then betrays Xena the first chance she gets. However, Xena expected this so she makes it look like Callisto is trying to trick Velasca. Xena, Gabrielle and Callisto draw Velasca into a trap but Velasca catches up with Gabrielle. She is just about to kill her when Callisto arrives and demands the ambrosia from Gabrielle. Xena is trapped on the side of a cliff on the other side of the rope bridge whilst Gabrielle and Callisto are stuck in the middle with Velasca at one end of the bridge. Gabrielle gives Callisto the ambrosia which then makes her a god and then Gabrielle gets out of the way. Velasca and Callisto fight on the bridge and Xena cuts the ropes so both fall into the lava pit below, which Xena tells Gabrielle should hold both of them prisoner for eternity.
