Synopsis:
Callisto and her army escape from prison and Callisto continues to wreak her revenge against Xena. Meanwhile, Perdicas seeks out Gabrielle and asks her to marry him. At first, Gabrielle is adamant that she is going to say no, but she changes her mind (as is a woman's perogative!).

Gabrielle and Perdicas marry and Xena and Joxer say their goodbyes and wish them well. However, Callisto finds Gabrielle and Perdicas and attacks them both, killing Perdicas. Xena hears of Callisto's escape and races back to Gabrielle but she cannot save Perdicas. Gabrielle mourns Perdicas and is consumed with hate for Callisto. She vows she will kill her and rails at Xena for never teaching her how to use a sword. Xena tries to persuade Gabrielle to return home to grieve. Gabrielle eventually appears to give in and leaves the camp. However, Gabrielle has tricked Xena and she sneaks into Callisto's camp but she cannot kill her. Callisto awakens and captures Gabrielle. Xena arrives and is captured and bound in the chair that held Callisto in prison.

Suddenly, Joxer arrives to try and rescue Xena and Gabrielle. His distraction allows Xena to recover her chakram and escape from the chair. Xena rescues Gabrielle but Callisto escapes in a chariot. Xena jumps into a second chariot and gives pursuit. When she catches up with Callisto, her chariot falls apart so she leaps on Callisto and both are knocked out of the chariot and fall into some quicksand. Callisto accepts her fate at first, believing Xena will die too, but when Xena escapes the quicksand, Callisto pleads for her life. Xena hesitates but then changes her mind, letting Callisto sink into the quicksand.

Synopsis:
A schemer called Agis and his accomplice, Meg attempt to take over King Lias' throne by kidnapping Princess Diana and her baby. As Meg is a Diana lookalike, she is able to take Diana's place, fooling Joxer and Gabrielle. Xena finds out what Agis and Meg are up to and she and Gabrielle set out to rescue Diana and her baby and save King Lias from being murdered. Xena recovers the baby and Meg, who could not bring herself to kill the king, is given a job as a cook in the palace kitchens.
