Synopsis:
A fierce female warrior is rampaging across the countryside, killing innocent villagers in Xena's name. A grieving father confronts Xena, calling her a murderer, making Xena determined to find out what is going on. She and Gabrielle come across a group of refugees and meet a so-called warrior, Joxer by name, who wants to join up with her. Xena turns him down, obviously thinking he is a bumbling idiot. Meanwhile, the grieving father, Melas, comes after Xena still believing she is responsible for his son's death.

Finally, Xena comes face to face with the warrior, Callisto and finds out that she is planning to kill the Oracle at Delphi. Callisto steals Xena's chakram and rides off. Xena finds out from Callisto's second-in-command, Theodorus, that Callisto wants revenge on Xena for her family's death at Cirra. Xena remembers that it was her army who was responsible for the death of women and children at that village.

Xena manages to stop Callisto from killing the Oracle and takes her prisoner. She takes her back to stand trial but there is an angry mob waiting for her, led by Melas. Xena guards Callisto in prison but she is tricked and Callisto escapes whilst Xena is trapped in her cell. Xena leaps through the roof and finds out that Callisto has Gabrielle.

Joxer, who wants to prove his worth to Callisto, is ordered to kill Gabrielle but he can't do it so he becomes a prisoner too. Xena arrives and she and Callisto fight. Callisto is left suspended in mid-air, holding on to a burning rope but Xena spares her life and Callisto and her army are led away as prisoners. However, as far as Callisto is concerned, she's not finished with Xena yet.
