Yakut
A member of the Northern Amazon tribe, Yakut is a mere girl when Xena arrives on the scene (see "Adventures In The Sin Trade I" and "Adventures In The Sin Trade II"). Xena teaches her the shamanic ways so that she can protect her people. When Xena visits the Amazons again, Yakut is their leader and she helps Xena against Alti but she is no match for the evil shamaness and is nearly killed (see "Them Bones, Them Bones"). When Xena returns once again to visit the tribe, she discovers that Yakut is dead but her spirit contacts Xena and tells her that she cannot cross to the other side unless Xena helps her (see "Lifeblood"). Yakut helps Xena find an ancient magical item that will show the Amazons that hatred and violence is not the way for them. Only then can she cross over into the Amazon afterlife. Xena convinces the Amazons that their ways must change and Yakut's spirit is freed.

Yodoshi
Yodoshi is the father of Akemi and is responsible for the deaths of Akemi's mother, sisters, brothers and grandparents. In revenge, Akemi kills him using the pinch. However, Yodoshi is so evil that he is refused entry into the underworld and, instead, returns to the world as a soul-eating demon. Each soul he devours appears to make him more powerful. In addition, he gains extra strength from the Fountain of Strength, located on Mount Fuji.

Yodoshi cannot be killed by a living mortal. Harukata, the ghost killer, tells Xena that although he has the power to kill Yodoshi, he cannot get close enough to him to use his blade. Yodoshi can, however, be trapped by another spirit. Xena allows herself to be killed so she can trap Yodoshi, allowing Harukata to get close enough to kill him. Unfortunately, Harukata is killed by Yodoshi and he tells Xena that she must drink from the Fountain of Strength and then use his sword to kill Yodoshi. Once Xena has done this, she is able to destroy Yodoshi and release all the souls he has consumed. See "A Friend In Need I" and "A Friend In Need II".

Young Girl
In "Between The Lines", Alti threatens to kill her young captive but is distracted by a sudden attack by Shakti and his forces.

Young Villager
A young villager who takes the opportunity to capture Livia and is just about to slit her throat when Xena distracts him (see "Eve"). Livia takes advantage of the moment and breaks free from the villager. The villager then asks Xena why she didn't let him kill Livia. He then tells her that the blood that Livia spills from now on is on her hands.

Young Woman
The young woman who, after visiting the temple of Mnemosyne had forgotten who she was, having given up her memories (see "Forget Me Not").

Young Woman
In "The Titans", this young woman was seen in the cave reciting the chant which supposedly should awaken the Titans. However, because she was using the wrong rhythms the chant did not work. Gabrielle asks if she can try and the girl hands her the scroll. We all know what happens next!

Young Woman
Whilst searching for Gabrielle, Xena visits the lands of the Northern Amazons. She comes across the body of an Amazon strung up in the trees and she cuts it down. She then conducts an Amazon burial ceremony. When she enters the spirit world, the young Amazon thanks Xena for giving her a proper burial and then takes her to Cyane.

Yurt
A circular tent with a framework of poles covered in skins, as used by Borias in "The Debt I" and "The Debt II" and by the Amazons in "Lifeblood".
