Walsim
Seen in "The Dirty Half Dozen", Walsim is an assassin. Xena tells Gabrielle that Walsim was a carpenter by trade until she trained him as a killer. In this episode, Xena rescues Walsim from execution and gives him the opportunity to change his ways. However, the offer of money from Agathon is too much of a temptation for Walsim and he betrays his comrades readily. Presumably, Walsim was killed when Agathon's castle was destroyed.

Warlord
When his castle is infiltrated by Autolycus and Jett, the warlord confronts the intruders. Jett stabs and kills him (see "King Of Assassins").

Warrior Philosopher
Lord Sinteres is given this title in the episode "Royal Couple Of Thieves". Sinteres fights using pressure points and Gabrielle says that he once killed a man with only a rose petal.

Warrior Princess
In HTLJ, it is suggested that Xena was given this title by her army. However, in "The Debt", Lao Ma uses this term when she tells Xena that she wants her to help her rule the kingdom of Chin. She tells Xena 'you will be my warrior princess'.

Warrior Queen
In "Callisto", Joxer refers to Callisto as a 'Warrior Queen'. She seems to like the title.

Warriors Of The Pierced Heart
A group of 'crusader-like' knights who fought against the Banshees in "Gabrielle's Hope".

Warry-Smith, David
Director for "Sacrifice I".

Wayan
Wayan is the gang leader in "Forgiven" who steals the Urn of Apollo from Apollo's temple. He plans to sell the urn but Xena, Gabrielle and Tara stop him and return the urn to the temple.

Way Of The Sword, The
Kenji says the way of the sword is the most ancient of the warrior's art. A Samurai develops sacred virtues of bravery, self discipline and honour (see "A Friend In Need I").

Way Of The Warrior, The
Xena begins to consciously follow this path after her 'meeting' with Lord Krishna in "The Way". This is her 'road to redemption' as mentioned in "Ides Of March". Callisto tries to steer her from this path by asking her to lay down her sword and fight no more. Xena responds by telling her, "to redeem myself, I have to fight evil with a sword and that's what I'm gonna do no matter what the consequences."

Wealthea
Wealthea is the name given to Xena by Hrothgar, who rescued her from the ocean (see "Return Of The Valkyrie"). Xena has lost her memories of being a warrior and, as Wealthea, has agreed to marry Hrothgar. All is not well, however, as Hrothgar seems to view her as his property, to do with as he pleases. When Beowulf is found in her room, Wealthea and Beowulf are sentenced to imprisonment but Beowulf persuades Wealthea to fight her way out of Hrothgar's kingdom.

Gradually, Wealthea/Xena starts to recover her memories but still does not recognise Gabrielle until she kisses and revives her. Once she does this, she regains her memory.

Werfner
Werfner is a priest of Dahak but his main motivation is to bring Dahak's daughter, Hope back into the world. To do this, he must sacrifice Seraphin for her blood (see "Sacrifice I"). Xena foils his attempts several times but Callisto captures Werfner so she can spill his blood. He hastily explains to her that it must be the Chosen One's blood that is spilt. He also reveals that he can communicate with Hope. At this, Callisto drags him to Hope's cocoon to pass on her message.

Later, Werfner once again tries to spill Seraphin's blood and is stopped by Xena. However, Seraphin cuts herself and places the blood on Hope's cocoon, thereby reviving her.

By "Sacrifice II", Werfner's cult is growing and innocent people are being sacrificed in Dahak's name. Although Xena manages to stop the cult members from bringing Dahak back into the world, her victory is empty with the loss of Gabrielle.

Wharfmaster
Autolycus tries stealth and cunning in order to get the Wharfmaster to reveal who stole the statue of Pax (see "Vanishing Act"). When this does not work, Xena takes over and uses her less subtle methods on the poor man. Nevertheless, she does get the information she needs.

Whore Of Rome
Old title for Eve when she was known as Livia (see "The God You Know").

Wicked Stepfather
In "If The Shoe Fits", when Joxer tells his version of the fairytale to Alesia, Zantar is the one portrayed as Tyro's wicked stepfather. In the story, the stepfather tells Tyro he cannot go to the ball to meet the princess.

Williams, Anson
Director for "Remember Nothing".

Williers, Buddy (aka Steven L Sears)
Writer for "Them Bones, Them Bones". Teleplay for "Back In The Bottle".

Winter, Terence
Writer for "Cradle Of Hope", "Giant Killer" and "Vanishing Act".

Woltrau
The head of the Valkyries, Woltrau is Odin's right-hand and seems just as determined as Odin to get the ring from Xena (see "The Ring"). Unfortunately for her, she is no match for Xena and meets her end in "Return Of The Valkyrie".

Woman
The woman who spits on Xena when she hears her name (see "Eve"). She tells her that Livia crucified all the villagers in her mother's name and then told her to ask Xena why she had done this. When the woman asks why, Xena does not answer.

Wounded Man
One of the victims of the rockfall in "Death In Chains". Gabrielle tries to help him but he pushes her away. Talus appears and tends the man's wounds whilst telling him a love story to take his mind off his pain. The man gratefully thanks him for his help.
