Naima
Naima is a beautiful Indian woman whom Xena and Gabrielle rescue from death, whilst in India (see "Between The Lines"). Naima uses the power of the Mendhi to send Xena into a future incarnation. She then teaches Gabrielle the Mendhi and sends her after Xena. Later, when Xena and Gabrielle return with Alti, Naima helps Xena defeat Alti. She then disappears into the Mendhi and glides up into the sky.
Najara
Najara is the self-proclaimed servant of the D'jinn and claims she hears their voices telling her what to do. Basically, she's a paladin, on a holy quest to defeat evil. So far, so good, you might say. The problem is that she does not know the meaning of the term 'have mercy' and slaughters her captives ruthlessly. She also tries to take Gabrielle away from Xena by telling her she is setting up a hospice and would like Gabrielle to help her with it. Gabrielle is all set for leaving with Najara, until Xena, suspicious as always, confronts Najara with her misdeeds and succeeds in getting her imprisoned (see "Crusader").
Najara is later released and, once again, Gabrielle falls under her spell. Najara says she has changed and that the D'jinn are punishing her by refusing to speak to her any more. However, it's all a lie (although Najara seems to genuinely believe it) and she is 'committed' as insane in the ancient Greek equivalent of Bedlam (see "The Convert").
Naughton Cave
The lair of the Beast of the Seven Heads mentioned in "Old Ares Had A Farm".
Nemos
Advisor to King Gregor. Nemos tries to convince the king to slay the infant who is to take his throne. The king is unsure, still grieving over his dead wife and son but Nemos is sly and plays on the king's fears. Nemos kidnaps the child and also takes possession of Pandora's box. Luckily, Xena and Gabrielle are hot on his heels and they recover the baby and the box and reveal Nemos for what he is (see "Cradle Of Hope").
Neron
Neron is Hermia's lover (see "Been There, Done That"). He and Hermia are from two rival families and there is no hope of them ever being together. Knowing this, Hermia takes some poison. Cupid saw this, took pity on Neron and granted him a wish. Neron asked that the day would never end, allowing him to relive it over and over until a great hero came to put things right. As a result, Xena also relives the day over and over until she figures out a way of stopping Hermia from taking the poison.
Ness
Talmadeus' commander in "The Greater Good". Ness is sent to the village to capture Lord Seltzer (aka Salmoneus) who has tricked Talmadeus into buying some useless weapons. Unfortunately for Ness, Xena arrives and rescues Salmoneus. Ness has to report his failure back to Talmadeus but the warlord is delighted to hear that Xena is in the area and relishes the thought of being the one to kill her.
Ness is sent back to the village by Talmadeus but he and his men are defeated by Xena, Gabrielle and the villagers. Once again, Ness has to return to camp with his tail between his legs and Talmadeus is not pleased. However, he gives his lieutenant another chance to redeem himself. Fortunately for Ness, Salmoneus surrenders to Talmadeus, thereby letting him off the hook.
Newswoman
Newswoman, Sandy Radford, reports that a strange woman masquerading as Xena is causing havoc and attacking the police (see "Send In The Clones").
Nigel
The irritating reporter from "You Are There" who tries to gather evidence that Xena is intent on making herself a god. When he is proved wrong, he apologises to her and Gabrielle but still is cheeky enough to ask about the nature of their relationship. Unfortunately for him, the film in the camera reaches its end before we get to hear it.
Nightsbane
A lethal poison, according to the apothecary in "Been There, Done That". Sip it and "you're on a one way trip to Tartarus."
Niklio
Niklio is the healer to whom M'Lila takes Xena when she rescues her from the Romans (see "Destiny"). Later, under Xena's instructions, Gabrielle takes the dying Xena back to him, but Xena has lost her will to live and he cannot save her.
Niklio resides at Mount Nestus.
Nile, The
Life-giving river of Egypt, mentioned in the episode "Anthony And Cleopatra".
N'kama Oil
This oil was used by Elkton, the Mystic (see "Dreamworker"). When Xena entered her Dream Passage her body fluids were lost, taken by time in the passage. N'Kama oil renews body fluids and gives more time in the passage, but only a few hours.
Nogalin
The wife of Phlanagus and mother to Deirimus (see "A Good Day"). Nogalin tells Xena and Gabrielle that she hadn't seen Phlanagus for two years. She confides her fears to Gabrielle about her husband's safety and worries about his time away at war. When her fears come true and Phlanagus is killed in battle, she tells Xena that she is going to tell her son that his father was a fisherman.
Nomads
Wandering tribes who move from place to place in search of food and pasture for their animals. In "Legacy" the nomadic tribes live in the deserts of North Africa.
Nonamia
A non-existent place, made up by Gabrielle so she and Thersites could access the Temple of Demeter in "A Fistful Of Dinars". She told the temple priests that she and her companion were from its sister temple in Nonamia.
Norris, Patrick
Director for "Daughter Of Pomira".
